This is the fifth year I have participated in the HeartBeat5000 event, and the second with Team Baby Heartbeat. I encourage and welcome your support for this important cause! Please join me and Team Baby Heartbeat to strengthen our support of children's heart health this year!
For those that don't know, I was diagnosed with two congenital heart defects in 1987. At 5 months old, I had open-heart surgery to repair them and I remained a patient at Children's well into my adult life, frequenting Children's for check-ups and tests. I was issued a clean bill of health in 2010, shortly before the retirement of my life-long pediatric cardiologist, Dr. Amarjit Singh.
I look forward to this event each year as a way to give back to an organization that has done so much for me and our support means Children's and the Heart Clinic can continue to do great things for many others!
