On December 10, 2010 our beautiful baby girl Hallie was born with a congenital heart defect found shortly after birth.  January 2011 Hallie had her first cardiac catheterization to open a defective valve in her heart. After the first procedure we found out that the valve blockage had caused the left side of her heart wall to thicken and her heart was losing function.  May 2011 Hallie had her second valve procedure.  We had more success with the second procedure.  Her heart wall was still thick, but her heart was functioning normally now. 

Thanks to Children’s Hospital and the wonderful cardiologists and cardiac care teams Hallie is an energetic and sassy 4 year old.  We continue to visit the cardiologist a couple times a year, but thanks to their early intervention and continued monitoring we have found ourselves in a very much appreciated holding pattern :)  We are hopeful that Hallie will continue to hold steady and progress as she gets older.

We joined the Heartbeat 5000 in June 2011 and haven’t looked back! It is our hope that, through the Heartbeat 5000, we are able to raise money to help other families at Children’s Hospital. The money we raise each year goes to the cardiac care unit at our local hospitals.  These hospitals save the lives of hundreds of children each year.  Please show your support for all of the hard work at Children’s by donating to a team or individual.
