Our family's hero is most definitely our son, Andrew (Captain Cardiac)!
Andrew was born on August 6, 2007, with a congenital heart defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. He was a beautiful, friendly, funny, sweet, strong-willed, wise and loving son and brother. We were blessed to enjoy 4 years and 3 months with this incredible soul.
Andrew inspired us so much during his life, and he continues to inspire us today. In true super hero form, Captain Cardiac would walk down the halls at Children's Hospital and blow kisses to all the rooms to help "save the babies". We are proud to continue Andrew’s legacy of "saving the babies" by supporting Children’s Hospitals Cardiac Care. Andrew fondly referred to the HeartBeat 5000 as “his special heart walk”, and we are thrilled to continue participating in this walk in his memory.
Children’s Hospital was a second home for us during Andrew’s life. We feel so fortunate to be blessed with a care facility that provided Andrew with such amazing medical care, friendship & love during his life.
