Team Addie!

I'm doing this fundraiser/walk for Addie, I used to be her teacher in the toddler room and still get to play with her throughout the yrs. What a great lil girl that can always put a smile and your face and is so strong with all the hurdles she has overcome. Please help us to not only help Addie but all others, so they are able to grow up happy and healthy. :-)   (Robin Hop)

Addie's Story:

Addison was born on 2/21/12 with a congenital heart defect (along with heterotaxy, asplenia and intestinal malrotation).  She underwent laparoscopic surgery at 2 days to fix the malrotation, and had heart surgeries at 6 months and 8 months to repair her heart, close one of the holes with an Amplatzer device and protect her lungs.  Last August, she underwent one more surgery to remove the band they placed around her pulmonary artery to protect her lungs, and everything went great.  We are down to just an annual check-up at the Heart Clinic, and are cautiously optimistic that she won't need any additional surgeries.

Addie is doing fantastic, and has developed into a sweet, sassy and curious pre-schooler.  None of this would have been possible without the amazing staff and resources available at Childrens and the Heart Clinic. (The Blankenships)
