Hi! My name is Colten Robertson and I am 2 years old. I was born on February 15th, 2013 and when I was only 1 day old we found out I had Congenital Heart Defects, and I was life flighted to Children's Hospital in Minneapolis. I ended up having a hard time, and spent 7 months on the cardiac unit. I had 6 open heart surgeries, 1 cardiac arrest, a stroke, seizures, I receieved a pacemaker for complete heart block, I was on ECMO two times, I was trached, and had a GJ tube placed. After 7 months I finally got to go home, and ever since I have been THRIVING. I was decannulated in April 2014, and I am starting to eat by mouth, so eventually I won't need my feeding tube. I work hard in my therapies five times a week, and I am doing awesome. The staff on the cardiac unit became family to us, and we look forward to this event every year to show our appreciation and to see them. The cardiac unit at childrens is incredible, they saved my life, and we can't thank them enough for all they have done for us.
