On September 17, 2013, Eli was born with an undiagnosed heart defect. Hours after birth, he was rushed to the Children's Hospital when his oxygen levels would not go above 70%. They found that he had Transposition of the Great Arteries. One week later, he underwent open heart surgery to correct this defect. After a couple of weeks of recovery, we were able to return home and now only have to go back for regular check ups with his cardiologist Dr. Hills. Thanks to the amazing cardiologists, Dr. Moga (who performed the major surgery), and the wonderful nurses, Eli is now a thriving toddler that knows no bounds.
