On April 4th, 2015 we took Morgan into the doctor at 6 weeks old because she didn't appear to be gaining any weight. We left the doctor's office on our way to Children's Hospital with a surprise and a shock we were not expecting...there was something wrong with Morgan's heart.

We learned later that day that Morgan has two very large holes in her heart (ASD and VSD) and that she would need open heart surgery. This diagnosis was heartbreaking to our family at first, but we are fortunate to have Children's close by.

On May 21st, Morgan had her surgery and now almost fully recovered.  She should be able to lead a normal, active, full life now that the repairs have been made.

We are running this race and raising money for Children's Hospital of Minnesota's Heart Program in honor of Morgan. Morgan will be running this race with us in her jogging stroller and we hope this is the first of many of Morgan's Miles!
