A team can be as small as two people or as big as you can make it. Give yourselves a great name, set a fundraising goal, and see what you can accomplish together.

Whether you're representing a business, gathering your family, or convincing your entire friend group to spend a Sunday walking dogs around Fort Adams, there’s room for everyone on a Heart & Sole team.

Bring together friends, family, neighbors, classmates, or your favorite group of animal lovers. Choose a team name, set a goal, recruit your crew, and turn your shared love of animals into something pretty powerful.

Business & Corporate Teams

Bring your workplace together for a cause everyone can get behind. A Heart & Sole team is a fun way to build camaraderie, engage employees, and show your company’s commitment to animals and the community—all while making a meaningful impact.

Recruit coworkers, set a company goal, spark some friendly competition between departments, and ask about employer matching gifts or a company contribution to make your team’s fundraising go even further.

Whether you're a team of two or twenty-two, every participant can create their own fundraising page, and every dollar they raise counts toward both their individual total and the team’s overall goal.

How It Works

1. Start Your Team

During registration, choose Create a Team, give your team a name, and set your team fundraising goal. The first person to create the team becomes the Team Captain.

Once your team is created, others can search for your team by name and join during registration.

2. Rally Your Crew

Invite friends, family, coworkers, neighbors, clients, classmates, or anyone else who wants to help animals. Share your team page, send personal invitations, and keep recruiting right up until Walk day.

3. Set Your Goal

Give your team something to work toward! Set an overall team fundraising goal and encourage each team member to set an individual goal of their own.

A great place to start: Number of team members × $100 = Team Goal

Have 10 walkers? Aim for $1,000. Have 25? Go for $2,500. And if your team blows past its goal, raise it and keep going!

4. Start Fundraising

Each team member has their own fundraising page to personalize and share. Donations raised by individual team members count toward both their personal fundraising total and your overall team total.

5. Walk Together

Join us at Fort Adams on Sunday, October 11 and celebrate everything your team accomplished together. Coordinate your shirts, make a team sign, take plenty of photos, and enjoy the day!

Every great team needs someone to get things rolling—and that’s where you come in.

As Team Captain, you’ll create your team, help recruit members, set the tone for your fundraising, share important Walk information, and keep everyone motivated along the way.

But you don't have to do it alone. You can appoint a co-captain to help recruit members, communicate with the team, and keep everyone moving toward your goal.

Build a Team That Goes the Distance

Keep Your Team Moving

A little encouragement can go a long way. Stay in touch throughout the campaign, share important Walk updates, and check in on everyone’s fundraising.

Celebrate the wins. Give a shoutout when someone reaches their goal, celebrate when the team hits 50%, or challenge everyone to see who can raise $100 first.

Keep recruiting, too! A team doesn’t have to be “finished.” Invite another coworker. Ask a neighbor. Bring in another family member. Challenge another department to join the fun.

Most importantly, keep everyone connected to why you're doing this. Every person you recruit and every dollar your team raises helps the Potter League provide care and resources for animals and the people who love them.

Make Fundraising Fun

Your team page is only the beginning. Give everyone a reason to get involved!

Challenge departments or coworkers to see who can raise the most. Host a game night, bake sale, restaurant fundraiser, pet photo contest, casual day at work, or another activity your team will actually enjoy.

Ask team members to check whether their employers offer matching gifts. If your team represents a business, consider asking the company to make a corporate contribution toward your team goal.

And don't underestimate a little friendly competition—sometimes all it takes is seeing someone else hit $250 to get everyone else moving.

Give Your Team Something to Chase

Fundraising is even more fun when there’s a goal on the horizon. In addition to individual fundraising prizes, teams can earn special recognition and incentives as they reach key milestones.

$1,000+ — Make Your Mark

Any team that raises $1,000 by September 30 at 11:59 PM will receive a custom Team MileBarker displayed along the Heart & Sole Walk route on Walk day.

$2,500+ — Sponsor a Kennel

Teams that raise $2,500 by October 11 will receive a custom Team Kennel Sponsorship Sign displayed on a dog or cat kennel of their choice for one month.

$5,000+ — Go Behind the Scenes

Teams that raise $5,000 by October 11 will receive a private, behind-the-scenes tour of a Potter League location of their choice, plus custom Team Kennel Sponsorship Signs displayed on both a dog and cat kennel for one month. Tour must be scheduled in advance.

Top 3 Fundraising Teams

The top three fundraising teams will receive special recognition at the Heart & Sole Walk—and, of course, some well-earned bragging rights.

Individual team members can also earn fundraising prizes based on their own fundraising totals. Adult participants earn the official 2026 Heart & Sole Walk T-shirt when they raise $50, while Junior participants (17 & under) earn theirs at $25, with additional prizes available at higher fundraising levels.
