Together, I hope we can support the Children’s Heart Foundation (CHF) in its mission to enhance survival rates, longevity, and quality of life for children with congenital heart diseases (CHD). The CHF is dedicated to advancing the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of these diseases through research funding. For some children with CHD, modern technology has provided an opportunity to survive and enjoy life, a possibility that wasn’t available 10-30+ years ago. I hope we can continue to build on this progress.
I am running the 2024 New York Marathon for Hearts That Race. When trying to originally figure out what charity I wanted to run for, I came across this organization and instantly knew I wanted to run for them because of a boy named Toby.
Before he was born, Toby was diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. HLHS is a congenital heart defect in which the left side of his heart doesn’t fully develop. Toby has undergone many heart procedures and will continue to face challenges as he grows up. He may only have half a heart but with one smile he will surly capture yours.
