In November, I will be running the TCS New York City Marathon in partnership with The Children's Heart Foundation. The mission of this foundation is to advance the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of congenital heart defects. Congenital heart defects (CHDs) are problems present at birth that affect the structure and function of the heart.
Working as a NICU nurse has opened my eyes to how crucial this mission is. According to The Children's Heart Foundation website, 25% of babies born with a CHD will need surgery or some other intervention in their first year of life to survive.
To be able to support this cause while simultaneously chasing my dream of running the New York City Marathon is such an honor. Thank you for your support!
