This November, I will be running the TCS New York City Marathon in support of The Children's Heart Foundation. The mission of this foundation is to advance the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of congential heart defects (CHDs). Congenital heart defects are problems present at birth that affect the structure and function of the heart.
As someone who suffered a stroke due to being born with a patent foramen ovale (PFO), this particular foundation is near and dear to my heart. According to The Children's Heart Foundation website, approximately 40,000 babies in the U.S. are born with CHDs each year, which equates to 1 child every 15 minutes.
To be able to support this cause while simulatenously running my first marathon is an incredible honor. By donating through my fundraising page, you will help The Children's Heart Foundation continue its vital work. Your contribution will help fund groundbreaking research, provide essential resources to families struggling and raise awareness about congenital heart defects. Even if you can't donate, you can still help by sharing my fundraising page with your friends, family and social networks.
Thank you for your generosity in support of The CHF and making a difference in the lives of children born with CHDs!
