Kylie Martin's Fundraising Page

My Story

I was born with an atrial septal valve defect. I had three holes in my heart and my tricuspid and mitral valve leaked. I underwent open heart surgery a few weeks after my first birthday. The surgeon repaired the hole by putting a patch over it, but they decided not to repair my valves since i was just a baby and still growing. 

Now, 18 years later I am just fine. I am able to live a normal life. I have no more restrictions and now only have to go to the cardiologist every two years. My valves still leak to this day, but my doctor is not concerned and i should be able to live a normal, healthy life with them leaking. 

I want to say thank you for taking the time to ready my story and visiting my page. I am really excited to do the heart walk this year and it would mean a lot if my friends and family would help me donate and reach my goal for a cause that is very personal to me. I want to say thank you in advance to those who donate as well and that every little bit helps and means so much to me!!
