I’m excited to be participating in the Hike-a-Thon this year! I’ve always loved the outdoors, and we are incredibly lucky here in Tennessee to have so many beautiful places that are free for all of us to explore. Organizations like TenGreen Land Conservancy make that possible, and I’m proud to support their work. Working in the Department of Conservation within the State Parks system has given me a front-row seat to Tennessee’s natural beauty. Even though I serve in an administrative role, I’ve been given the amazing opportunity to guide hikes in my park and to share the joy of hiking with other women — something I’m truly grateful for. I believe strongly in protecting our land and preserving its untouched beauty for the next generation.
