I've always loved hiking and walking for fitness. Last year, arthritis in my knee was so painful, I had trouble shopping for groceries. In December, I had knee replacement surgery and recovery has been difficult, slow and painful. Now I'm stronger than ever and able and ready to get back to walking in nature. I'm joining the hike-a-thon to celebrate and motivate myself. I realized I took for granted what a gift it is to walk and get out in nature. I will not take it for granted again. I will cherish every moment in this beautiful green Tennessee. And if I can raise some money to preserve our Tennessee natural areas, I'm happy to do that. Spring is here and I am ready!
