Every step brings a child closer to a forever family.
Hike With Your Heart celebrates the transforming impact that having a caring family has on a child growing up alone. Join in the fun! Honor the idea of family—invite your friends to hike with you or just help you reach your fundraising goal. Nothing makes a difference in a young person’s life like having a family!
Participants raise funds—as individuals or part of a team—to support the thoughtful work of giving older youth in foster care a voice and a choice in who becomes their family.
HOW IT WORKS
- Register to hike $25 (free for kids 19 and under)
- Set your fundraising goal ($500 to $2,000 suggested.)
- Invite friends to join you
- Using your own easy-to-create fundraising webpage, raise money to support Kidsave. (We’ll do most of it for you.)
Registration Includes:
- A group hike with a bunch of great people
- A Free T-Shirt
- Outdoor breakfast and picnic lunch provided by Kidsave
- Games
- Connections with our local Kidsave community
- Giveaways, celebrations, and more

9 AM Check-in, 10 AM Hike
We will meet at the Sun Valley Picnic Area located in the lower picnic area between the Community Loop and Janie’s Green Valley, across the road from the Community Center/Park Office. PDF Map
Parking is available near the picnic area and park offices, and the park office side of the street.
Parking Fee: $7 per car - CASH ONLY.
NOTE TO HIKERS: Hike is approximately 2.5 miles with breaks.
Hikers of all skill levels are welcome. The hike begins with a large, long hill, and after that is undulating and not very strenuous.

HOW IT STARTED
Hike With Your Heart started in 2015 in Los Angeles as an outdoor event for people to enjoy some great scenery and meet local kids in foster care while they enjoy a leisurely hike. Today, it is Kidsave’s premier outdoor fundraising and advocacy event held in multiple cities nationwide. The events include games, meals, T-shirts, shoes for the kids, and lots of camaraderie.
