Get kids outdoors…
Why I Hike for Kids
Being outside and learning outside has been a huge part of my life. And without the moments of curiosity and learning about outdoor sports like hiking, climbing, and kayaking - I’m not sure I would have had the push as an adult to pursue these interests which has lead to a lot of great things in my life.
Which is why on Saturday, October 25, I plan to #TakeAHikeForKids to support Blue Sky Fund. (Also cause, you know, I am the one running the event...)
In fact, back in 2015, my first ever interaction with Blue Sky Fund occurred when I registered for Hike for Kids! Since then, I’ve volunteered for the Outdoor Adventure Clubs belaying students who were learning to climb at Peak Experiences, volunteered on overnight camping trips, and joined day hikes out to places like Humpback Rocks. Every single experience had me wanting to become more involved - and so I did.
In January 2022, I officially joined the Blue Sky Fund team as the Development & Communications Director. It’s been a serious dream come true. Blue Sky combines my love of the outdoors with my years of experience in strategic marketing, environmental education, and non-profit development.
I hope you can join me in supporting this incredible work by joining my team or making a donation!
