After over a year apart, we’re over the moon excited to lace up our hiking boots and reunite on the trails together this October for the 10th anniversary of Hike For Kids! To ensure that anyone and everyone can participate, this year we’re excited to offer both an in-person and virtual option, meaning that you can choose your own path and each step on the trail will help Blue Sky Fund make the outdoors more accessible for youth of color in Richmond. We’re also bringing back our fun hiker challenges to create an unforgettable event experience - check out details below!
Following a long season of isolation, we couldn't be more excited to come together and reunite in person to hike in support of the youth served by Blue Sky Fund! Here's what you can look forward to on Saturday, October 23rd:
Start and end your day with us at basecamp, located at the newly expanded Virginia War Memorial.
Enjoy some of the best urban trails in the country with either a 3-, 8- or 14-mile loop around the James River Park System.
Celebrate your journey at our post-hike party with complimentary* food from Slideways, Väsen beer, live music and games for the family. *Food and one beverage included in registration fee!
Check out our FAQs here for a full list of COVID-19 procedures. Safety protocols following CDC guidelines for large gatherings will be implemented to ensure that hikers maintain social distance and limit risk of exposure. Please note that we are monitoring in-person group gathering guidelines closely due to rising COVID-19 cases.
