I am a CHAMPION FOR KIDS!
This year I am hiking to raise awareness and be a part of the solution supporting older kids in foster care here in the US and in orphanages around the world!
My personal goal is to raise $150 to support Kidsave’s amazing programs. Over 440,000 kids in the US and 8 million worldwide are in child welfare systems like foster programs and orphanages.
I want to give kids the chance to start a new chapter and live a life of hope, love, and acceptance!
Kids just like Luna who was adopted in January 2024 after being in foster care for years.
Luna met her Mom and Dad, Stuart and Sydney, through our Weekend Miracles program at our Hike event in 2022. It was an instant connection! We are so happy to see them celebrating every day together as a forever family. Read more about Luna’s adoption story!

Your support enables Kidsave to find forever families for all kids, everywhere. Because of people just like you and me, who care deeply about kids who need families, Kidsave has been able to train governments and social workers in the US and abroad in implementing the Family Visit Model.
Working in partnership with governments and local non-profits, Kidsave’s model inspires communities to become part of the solution and is at work on four continents.
In the US, we are helping older, forgotten kids in foster care in Los Angeles and Houston find adoptive parents and lasting connections to caring adults.
Since 1999, this work has positively impacted the lives of well over 560,000 children worldwide.

We will meet at the Sun Valley Picnic Area located in the lower picnic area between the Community Loop and Janie’s Green Valley, across the road from the Community Center/Park Office. PDF Map
Parking is available near the picnic area and park offices, and the park office side of the street.
Parking Fee: $7 per car - CASH ONLY.
NOTE TO HIKERS: Hike is approximately 2.5 miles with breaks.
Hikers of all skill levels are welcome. The hike begins with a large, long hill, and after that is undulating and not very strenuous.
