Stand in Solidarity With Our Homeless Neighbors.

HumanKind Ministries (HK) invites you to spend a night under the stars to raise awareness and much-needed funds to tackle homelessness in Wichita.

UPDATE 3/16/2020: In light of the CDC’s warnings against gatherings of 50 or more people, we have made the difficult decision to postpone our upcoming Sleep Out/Speak Out fundraising event. We hate to do this, as the event raises critical funds vital to continuing operations and covering the extra costs of associated with caring for our clients during this time, but your safety remains our top priority.

If you haven’t already, we hope you will still consider signing up for the event—as an event attendee or virtual participant—and use this extra time to raise much-needed funds and awareness to support our homeless neighbors. We will announce a new date as soon as one is determined.

Date TBD (originally scheduled Friday, May 1, 2020)
Rhatigan Student Center Courtyard, Wichita State University

Sleep Out/Speak Out is not about pretending to be homeless; it’s an act of solidarity—to give you a tiny insight into this reality, and raise funds and awareness to help those experiencing homelessness in Sedgwick County.

Sleep out so others don’t have to, then speak out about this important issue in our community!

About HumanKind Ministries

For 135 years, HumanKind Ministries (HK) has served those struggling in poverty and homelessness. Through homeless shelters, affordable housing, and Operation Holiday, we are working to help individuals and families meet their basic needs and address their unique challenges in order to build brighter futures for themselves and their families. It costs approximately $450,000 to run our three homeless shelters each year, serving roughly 1,500 men, women, and children. This event will go a long way in continuing these services and helping struggling individuals and families find hope for a better future. Click here to learn more
