Join us in celebrating the power of arts, history, & culture education! Our Annual Spring Gala benefits exhibition and community programming for Solano County and beyond. Community supporters, stakeholders, members, and donors will be transported back in time to the glitzy red carpets of the 1920s, 30s and 40s! The evening includes a seated dinner, an honoree program, live and silent auctions.
The Vacaville Museum serves all of Solano County through its mission of exploring history, connecting community, and cultivating a future inspired by arts & culture.
The Museum’s continued priority is to be an inclusive, interdisciplinary space that embraces and uplifts the unique stories of Solano County.
Annually, the Museum hosts 2 exhibitions that focus on the art, history, and culture present in the county. In February 2026, the Museum launched its Community Gallery exhibition space designed to celebrate local creativity and community storytelling. The Museum hosts a complimentary event series alongside each exhibit. Events provide an opportunity for the community to learn from specialists, educators, and professionals about exhibit topics. These events serve as interactive opportunities- often offering hands-on experiences and conversations with experts.
The Museum also offers robust school programming for the County, both on-site at the Museum and through outreach opportunities in classrooms. In 2025, the Museum launched its new school program, ‘History Detectives’, which brings real museum collection artifacts into schools as a tool to teach students inquiry-based critical thinking strategies.
The Museum’s collections contain photographs, objects and artifacts, artworks, and archival materials from all over Solano County. The Museum continuously assesses its collection to ensure it represents the community's history, artistic achievements, and cultural heritage. Based on identified priorities, the museum acquires and preserves relevant artworks, artifacts, and documents to enrich its collection and tell a comprehensive story of the region.
