When I was little, my family was homeless. Not “staying with friends” homeless, but “living in our car/shelters” homeless. Many people have the misconception that homelessness is a problem that only affects people struggling with addiction and mental illness. In America, 2.5 million children are homeless, through no fault of their own and with no power to change their circumstances.
As a kid, it was only with the help of agencies like the United Way and the compassion of strangers that my brothers and I had food to eat and clothes on our backs. I’m asking you to be that stranger for another child in need. Anything you can spare helps and is greatly appreciated. Thank You!.
