The year 2020 brings a renewed sense of hope and enthusiasm as we set out to tackle some of Los Angeles’ most pressing social and economic issues – including that of homelessness. There is simply no denying the fact that homelessness is the crisis of today and tomorrow, with 58,936 people currently experiencing homelessness throughout L.A. County. That number is set to rise in the coming years as rents continue to soar throughout the city and incomes remain stagnant for those most at risk.
As we transition into this new decade, the United Way and Emerging Leaders are more committed than ever to finding lasting and impactful solutions to this epidemic.
