Welcome to my fundraising page for HOM Teal Strides for Ovarian Cancer! In December 2023 after over a year of visiting five different doctors trying to understand my symptoms, I had an ultrasound and a paracentesis. On my 78th birthday, December 27th, my Mychart from my health care provider greeted me with the diagnosis. Ovarian Cancer, stage 4. A week later I began treatment, chemotherapy, then, in late May, surgery, then more chemotherapy. Now I am, hopefully, about to start a monitoring phase with a lesser chemo. I am happy to be alive now, happy to have been able to have treatment, and so happy to be feeling like myself again. Whatever comes next, I have now. All the treatment has only come through research.
