In 2020, my husband was sworn in as a naturalized USA citizen. He was naturalized on election day, and as soon as he came out of that immigration office, he drove back to Tacoma and stood in line for over 2 hours to cast his very first vote, ever. Tacoma Community House was the reason why he was able to get his citizenship. Thanks to the tireless work of passionate people, hundreds of families like mine have the chance to be safe and find a place of belonging in our communities.
