As a child of Vietnamese refugees, my life and story would not be what it is without the support of open-hearted people who warmly welcomed my mother's family and my father to this country when they had just lost their own. I currently serve on the Board of Directors for Tacoma Community House which has provided resources and services for immigrants, refugees, and local youth for over a century. I hope that in this time of community and gathering with loved ones during trauma and turmoil abroad, we can act as ambassadors of care: that "Hope Lives Here." I would love if 36 of my loved ones could donate to Tacoma Community House, as these 36 wonderful years on Earth would not have been possible without resources for refugees.
