Every child deserves a safe and joyful childhood, but for too many children in Colorado, that’s not their reality. Child abuse is happening in our communities every day, and far too often, their voices go unheard.
As a board member of the Denver Children’s Advocacy Center (DCAC), I’ve seen firsthand the life-changing impact of their work. DCAC prevents child abuse, strengthens families, and provides healing services for children who have suffered abuse. They don’t just help children survive trauma. They help them heal, thrive, and reclaim their childhood.
This past year alone, DCAC:
- Reached 5,308 children, 541 parents, and 430 teachers with abuse prevention education
- Conducted 843 forensic interviews to support investigations and protect victims
- Provided therapy and critical services to 614 children and families
But there is still so much more to do.
Why should you give?
- 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 13 boys will experience sexual abuse before turning 18—yet most will never tell anyone.
- Thousands of Colorado children suffer abuse or neglect every year, yet many cases go unreported.
- Healing takes time, support, and resources—and that’s exactly what DCAC provides.
Here’s how your donation makes an impact:
- $5 provides snacks for 5 children or art supplies for a therapy session
- $25 provides child abuse prevention education for 1 child
- $50 provides transportation to DCAC for a family in need
- $125 provides a therapy session for a child
- $500 provides prevention programming for an entire classroom
- $750 provides a forensic interview and victim advocacy for 1 child
- $3,500 provides a full treatment cycle for a child
For Hope Starts Here, I’ve set a goal to raise $750 to support DCAC’s critical work. Will you join me?
