Every child deserves a childhood filled with hope. At DCAC, we work to help kids affected by abuse and neglect reconnect with that hope. In the community, I have had several conversations with families who have named DCAC as a turning point for their kiddo after a harmful experience.  That's why we do what we do.

With your donation we get to provide a space for kids to tell their story in a safe, non- threatening environment, offer them therapy, and work in the community to identify activities, programming, and resources that help with healing and allow them to be kids.  We also interact with kids and parents in schools to talk about how to be safe and prevent abuse.

The highlight of my job is to be in the community, listening, learning and informing on information that allows for parents and families to know how important safety is, how important they are, and how they impact their family and community.  For us, that is what prevention looks like!   

In 2024 DCAC 

• Reached 5,308 children, 541 parents, and 430 teachers through their community outreach and prevention work.

• Conducted 843 forensic interviews. 

• Provided case management, mental health assessments, and treatment for 614 clients.
