My goal is to raise $1800 to help build decent affordable housing on Kauai. I have joined a Hawaii Village Build team. I will meet the team on Kauai in January 2025 and together we will help a local family build their home. I will pay for my travel, lodging in a HFH home, food, insurance, and some cultural activities with the team. What I am asking of you is help in funding building materials so we can continue to build affordable housing for the many other Kauai families in need.

Affordable housing is a crisis across the United States and Hawaii is no exception. The average cost of a home on Kauai is $1.2 Million, which most local families can not afford. Some families work two or three jobs and are still forced to decide between healthcare, childcare, or food each month after paying their rent or mortgage. Other families resort to sharing a single-family home with multiple generations or multiple families to afford shelter. That overcrowding causes stress and their mental and physical health is compromised. More and more families are having to leave their homeland to move to the mainland as they become priced out of Hawaii.

I have joined a Hawaii Village Build team to make a big difference in one Kauai family’s life. Your generosity can make a huge difference to many more Kauai families. I hope my fundraising will raise awareness of the housing crisis on Kauai, bring in funds to make an impact, and raise hope for a brighter future for Kauai families.
