In these polarized times, it’s rare to find a mission that truly unites us all. Yet, the safety of our children is universal. Child sexual abuse affects families from all walks of life—every community, every background. This issue may be uncomfortable to discuss, but it’s too important to ignore. One in four girls and one in thirteen boys experience child sexual abuse, with impacts that reach across generations. The work Hidden Water does to prevent and heal this harm is essential, and I’m proud to support it.

This year, we’re launching an innovative program called Safe(r) Adult—a 12-week virtual training designed to empower parents, caregivers, and community members to prevent harm before it happens. Through practical, skills-based sessions, participants learn to recognize boundary-crossing behaviors, respond effectively to disclosures, and create safer environments for children. By focusing on proactive solutions, this program puts the tools directly in our hands to influence our homes, schools, and communities in subtle but powerful ways.

As many organizations face funding challenges, it’s up to us to ensure Hidden Water can continue this vital work. Our support on Giving Tuesday will make it possible to bring Safe(r) Adult to more families and communities, equipping them to take meaningful steps toward prevention.
