In a time when political divides seem to grow deeper every day, I’m reminded of how child sexual abuse touches families everywhere—regardless of politics, beliefs, or backgrounds. It’s clearer than ever that the work we’re doing at Hidden Water is essential. My life’s journey—as a mediator, shaman, teacher, and social worker—has led me here, to build a model of healing and prevention that puts the power back in the hands of families.

This year, we’re introducing our Safe(r) Adult training—a 12-week virtual program that equips parents, caregivers, family members, and community members with practical skills to prevent harm. This program is not about the problem but the solution. Through subtle yet powerful methods, it teaches adults how to recognize boundary-crossing behaviors, respond compassionately to disclosures, and create safer spaces for children—all through the power of conversation, action, and influence within their own communities.
