Welcome to the "Afterparty"

Thank you to everyone that joined us for such a spectacular evening for

our 2nd annual Wings of Iowa, A Celebration of Birds.

It was a wonderful evening.

A special thank you to Anne Shimerdla, Blank Park Zoo; Chad Elliott, musician; Specials Guest Matilda and Cassie; Julia Hunt, Photographer; Mike Gustafson, Photographer and especially our Gala Committee and IBR volunteers.

We still could use more help to get ready for the 2025 season so we are moving the party online and ask for your help to fund our most urgent needs:

Fill Our Food Buckets, Extreme Nest Makeover, and Bird ER.

Help fund these special items to make sure IBR can do the best work for the birds and our community.

Let's do this!

Keep the Momentum Going – Help Us Save More Birds!

Thanks to your incredible generosity at our gala, we’re kicking off the 2025 baby bird season stronger than ever! Your support plays a vital role in helping us care for the growing number of birds in need—an increase of 20-25% each year, with a staggering 65% growth last year alone.

Why Your Support Matters

In 2024, we faced some of our toughest challenges yet:

  • -Treating lead-poisoned swans
  • - Managing record-breaking rescue cases
  • - Navigating the impact of avian influenza

Despite these hurdles, we also celebrated major milestones:

  • - Hosting National Geographic photographer Joel Sartore
  • - Strengthening partnerships in education, conservation, and wildlife care
  • - Finding permanent homes for three pelicans and a green heron at Tracy Aviary in Utah

Help Us Do Even More in 2025!

Since 2012, we’ve rescued 14,379 birds—and we’re just getting started. Your online donation today ensures we have the resources to provide critical care, rehabilitation, and safe spaces for Iowa’s birds.
