Health Care Unaffordable for Syrian Refugees and Vulnerable Jordanians

Recent spikes in healthcare costs have made access to medical care virtually unattainable for many Syrian refugees and vulnerable Jordanians who were already suffering from illness and poverty–this amidst the continued spread of coronavirus variants and other diseases left untreated during lockdowns.

For Syrian refugee families, for example, many live on less than $3/day according to the United Nations. As such, medical costs were already unaffordable. But now, with the costs two-to-five times what they were before, the hope for health aid, including preventative measures to stop the spread of disease, is nonexistent.

The Power of You

The All-Powerful, Allah (SWT), has put power and opportunity in your hands and in your heart to give charity through IRUSA, and to support efforts for our sisters and brothers in need. Here are just some of the ways your donations through IRUSA can be powerful for this project:

$85 can support health care access for a community member

$250 can help provide proper training on hygiene practices

$1,000 can support dialysis sessions for kidney patients

So, will you use your God-given power to help those in need? Say “YES!,” and click DONATE NOW or BECOME A FUNDRAISER to get started. You can either donate directly to this effort, or start a fundraising page to harness the power of your community to raise more awareness and support for this program.

IRUSA Program to Bring Medical Aid to Families in Need

To help both Syrian refugee families and vulnerable Jordanians get dire health services, IRUSA, through the support of humanitarians like you, is implementing a powerful program that will make access easier for more than 18,800 people.

The ultimate goal of this project is to expand access to health services to those in need, while also contributing to urgent and life-saving aid that alleviates the impact of the Syrian crisis on the health sector in Jordan. Our mobile health clinic project in Jordan allows our team to travel across the country to help the Syrian refugee population, in addition to other vulnerable populations, with primary health care, medicine, and hospital referrals. Our mobile health clinics are state-of-the-art, equipped with solar panels and a self-sustaining system.

Here are just some of the interventions we are working on:

  • Access to improved health care services for Syrian refugees and vulnerable Jordanians

  • Access to primary health care services for thousands of patients

  • Availability of quality and timely secondary and tertiary health services for hundreds of patients

  • Access to dialysis for patients suffering from kidney issues

  • Awareness sessions on COVID-19, health issues, and hygiene practices
