Faith has always played a strong role in my life, and it continues to shape my life every day.  My time at college has introduced me to some of the harsh realities of our world.  In good times and bad, my relationship with God continues to grow, and I have come to realize that there is a desire in my heart to love and serve the world.  One of the greatest gifts I have been blessed with is my passion for life.  This gift drives my desire to help others, especially those that are less fortunate than me. This passion and my trust in God make me hopeful that a better life for everyone is possible. 

I have been presented with the opportunity to volunteer with a group called ChildVoice, a non-profit Christian organization seeking to restore the voices of children and communities silenced by war. This June, I will travel to the Lukome Centre in Northern Uganda to serve women and children who have been victims of sex slavery and/or forced into becoming child soldiers.  My desire is to spread love and knowledge, and to share support and compassion with these communities that have been impacted by war. At the same time, I know that the people who I serve will have an immense impact on my life.  I am grateful to have the opportunity to make a difference and am blessed to have the chance to gain a global perspective of the world we live in.  I ask for your prayers and support for me and communities I will be working with throughout my journey.
