Why I Support Junior Achievement

Chances are, if you're on this page, you know me well.  I am really passionate about our community and finding impactful ways of giving back.  One area I have found to serve is by being a board member and active classroom volunteer for Junior Achievement of the Northwest District.

JA absolutely makes an impact on our students' lives and I get the joy of witnessing this each year.  I love getting in the classroom, but also working on the board gives me an opportunity to maximize our non-profit's effectiveness in our community.

Every year I hear from teachers and principals that our programs are that spark that connects their education to the "real-world".  We share with them how important their education will be to their future roles in our workplace, we share our experiences, our mistakes, the subjects we wish we had paid more attention to, and how we use our education in the workplace today.

We bring relevant lessons to the classroom that teach students financial literacy, how to save and budget, how a business works, where money comes from, and what types of careers we have right in our own community!   Speaking firsthand I wish I had this kind of exposure going through school.   We give our kids the opportunity to dream and believe in what they can accomplish.  And it's SO rewarding for me.

We depend on our volunteers and we absolutely depend on your financial commitment.  We have some really generous businesses in our community that support us, but each year is a battle to ensure we can afford the classroom materials and resources to deliver this to our community.

I am asking for your support so together we can empower young people to own their economic success!

JA programs provide sound economic and business programs to more than 16,000 students!  Your gift is essential to making JA possible in our Chippewa Valley Classrooms.  Thanks for your gift of opportunity.
