I have been drawn to and am passionate about serving with Junior Achievement as a Northwest District board member because I know that JA changes students' lives. I have seen firsthand the impact that JA makes in the classrooms that I have volunteered in, and I have watched the teamwork and problem solving skills that students are able to display.
JA teaches fundamental programs on how business works, how to save and budget, and the program allows students opportunities to explore careers in their own community. The difference is that we partner with the teachers and share lessons along with offering our own "real-world" job experiences with students. We help provide the connection between education and the world of work.

And even if you are not able to provide support in the form of a monetary contribution, we have many volunteer opportunities that you can take part in. If you have never helped to teach in your own child's classroom or even in a classroom that is not your child's, I can't encourage you enough to take that opportunity. Though not necessarily in my comfort-zone, I found the experience incredibly rewarding, and JA makes it very easy to do so.
