Due to anticipated thunderstorms and flash floods causing unsafe riding conditions, Federation’s JCYCLE Community Bike Ride is cancelled for May 5, 2019.

THANK YOU to our cyclists, co-chairs, sponsors, and supporters. Your enthusiasm for this event, your passion for summer camps, and all of your fundraising efforts have made JCYCLE a success for our important cause.

As of Shabbat on Friday, May 3, you have donated and raised over $44,000 for area Jewish summer campers. Fundraising continues through the end of May. Keep moving our community forward!

We hope you’ll use tomorrow morning to ride with us indoors! Take a picture of yourself on an indoor bike and post it on social media with #JCYCLE by 12:00 p.m. on Sunday to keep the fun going. Send photos to

Join The Jewish Federation to provide more Jewish camp experiences for local kids!

Whether you're an experienced cyclist or new to the sport, everyone can participate in Federation’s JCYCLE Community Bike Ride and help kids in our community experience the joy of Jewish summer camp.

Register for one of two ride options:

  • The 75-mile ride begins at Capital Camps & Retreat Center in Waynesboro, PA at 7:30 a.m.

  • The 40-mile ride begins at Walnut Ridge Park in Frederick, MD at 10:30 a.m.

Transportation for both rides will depart from the Bender JCC of Greater Washington.

Both rides end in Rockville, MD at the Bender JCC of Greater Washington in Rockville, MD for a finish-line celebration for riders, family and friends!

In order to be able to provide significant resources for summer campers, there is a recommended minimum fundraising goal of $1,000 per rider. Participants who raise $1,800 or more will receive a complimentary JCYCLE jersey. (Fundraising continues through May.)

If you’d rather let others do the riding, you can still participate in JCYCLE by donating to a rider, a team or the overall event. Proceeds will go towards supporting Jewish summer camping opportunities for local kids in the Greater Washington community.
