Instead of gifts, this year I'm asking for donations to be made to Joy International to help save and keep children out of child trafficking. This is a bigger national & global problem than you may know about.

You may think slavery was ended at the end of the Civil War, but it continues today in greater numbers than ever during the African Slave trade. The USA is unfortunelty ranked the 3rd country globaly for human trafficking; as well Charlotte NC is one of the worst cities for it. And, the numbers don't get better when you look specifially at child trafficking, or sex-child trafficking. You can learn more on Joy International's main website. https://www.joy.org/mission-vision-values

Also, there is a new movie out called "Sound of Freedom" which details a true story of rescuing children out of US child trafficing. It gives a pretty acurate picture of what trafficking looks like, and the challenges of stoping it.

Many of you have known my heart to adopt children, and rescue them from pain and give them love and a safe home to thrive in. My heart still beats for these children, and though the doors for MIke and I to adopt haven't opened yet, there are still unnumbered children in need of rescue. As I've learned about child trafficking, my heart can't help but want to help these children possibly in an even worse scenerio.
