MY STORY

Meet Anu — an 19 year old student, actress, model, entrepreneur, and all-around superstar! She’s the CEO and creative force behind Lovebird by Anu, her very own lip balm brand that’s bursting with flavor and heart.

We’re absolutely thrilled to be an Ambassador for this year’s walk, and even more excited to be partnering with CDSS on a custom lip balm called “Forward and Fabulous” — because that’s exactly what Anu is!

Anu launched her business during the pandemic and was featured in the DSRF Teen Issue as a young entrepreneur with Down Syndrome. She’s sparked inspiration in so many young people to start their own ventures and gain real-world skills along the way.

When she’s not making lip balm magic, Anu’s lighting up screens in national commercials, showing her creativity at art shows with Toronto Metropolitan University, dropping wisdom on podcasts, and even appearing in a documentary about entrepreneurs.

At school, Anu is a total powerhouse — she’s been an MC at events, performed in school plays, volunteered in the library, and is always bringing her positive energy wherever she goes.

Oh, and did we mention she’s spent the last two summers working at Melly’s Workplace and Café? Yep, she’s got that hustle!

Anu’s motto? “Have confidence in yourself, never give up, and be kind to everyone"
