The Canadian Down Syndrome Society (CDSS) is a national non-profit organization focused upon human rights, health, social participation, inclusive education and employment for those with Down syndrome. CDSS supports self-advocates, parents and families through all stages of life.

Amongst many organizations that I support, CDSS is near my heart as my Godson Izzy was diagnosed with Downsyndrome. CDSS provided great support to my good friend, Lory, and her family as workers provided support throughout his growth and development. Izzy, who was always bright, vibrant and who loved his popcorn and ice cream, excelled greatly because of the work and support that was provided. 

On Saturday June 14th, there will be a national walk to bring awareness about Downsyndrome.This year in honour of Izzy (who sadly passed away November 2023), I am honoured to be a part of team Izzy and to help raise funds for such a valuable organization that is so needed, where they can continue to help support children and their families.
