About the Walk
The Canadian Down Syndrome Walk 2025 is a national fundraiser dedicated to progress, inclusion, and empowerment—bringing together communities to celebrate individuals with Down syndrome and support their journey to thrive. This year’s theme “Let’s move forwards, not backwards” invites us all to imagine and help build a world where everyone is seen, valued, and respected for who they truly are. People from coast to coast will unite to support life-changing projects for families and individuals with Down syndrome.
Your support helps fund national initiatives such as:
- Employment programs that highlight abilities and open doors to inclusive workplaces
- Wellness initiatives that encourage healthy, active living
- Community publications that amplify voices and share stories from across the country
Mira is a full-of-life 8-year-old with Mosaic Down Syndrome and Mosaic Turner Syndrome who lights up the world around her every single day. She's a big-time rock star in her own right, grabbing her super cool guitar and strumming her way through the greatest hits of yesterday and today. The Event

Mira with her family and friends will be walking the trails of Sunset Acres, starting from the walking trail beside the site of the new school on Macadam Ave heading to Kent Street Park June 14th from 1:00pm to 2:30pm. Once there, they’ll celebrate with a bring-your-own picnic and dance party—because no walk for Mira would be complete without a little sparkle, some snacks, and a few epic dance moves.
