The Pups Pub family is still in shock with the loss of one of our founding partners; Trevor Tackett, who tragically paid the ultimate sacrifice protecting America when his plane contracted by the Pentagon crashed in the Philippines on Thursday, February 6th 2025 killing all four souls on board. He was 32 years old.
Trevor served in the US Air Force as an Intelligence Analyst with Pups Pub's co-founder Alex Wright. Staff Sergeant (SSgt) Tackett quickly climbed the ranks and began supervising Top Secret (TS) Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions. Following his enlistment, SSgt Tackett transitioned into ongoing service as a private government contractor working as an Airborne Sensor Operator where he successfully flew over 800 ISR Special Operations support missions.
Trevor dedicated his life to our country and the people he loved, whether shotgunning a beer shirtless in public, shredding powder down the slopes of Tahoe wearing an 80's themed snowsuit (also sometimes shirtless) or flying Top Secret missions hunting evil in war-torn countries. Trevor lived life to the fullest, always searching for a raw human experience to share with others. He had a bigger than life personality that sucked you in like a black hole of fun and adventure. Trevor had the ability to push people out of their comfort zone and feel good about being themselves with him without prejudice or judgement.
Pups Pub was and will continue to be inspired by how Trevor lived his life and touched so many lives in such a short amount of time. He created a fun and safe place where friends, family, and their four-legged companions like his beloved furbaby Roxy came together to share unforgettable moments. Trevor helped establish a family atmosphere at Pups Pub and we partied every time "Hurricane Trevor" returned from deployment! This "dawg" had the extraordinary ability to unite people from all walks of life, and his infectious spirit will be cherished and remembered forever!!
It's only fitting that "Hurricane Trevor" was born in Key West, FL. As a child of a military family, Trevor lived in locations including Hawaii, Germany, California, and Virginia. He had homes in Lake Tahoe, CA and Destin, FL, but resided in Tampa with Val within walking distance to Pups Pub. He is survived by his parents Steve and Sandra Tackett, his siblings Joshua Tackett (Emilee and niece Alaina), Danielle Smith (Brandon), Kaity Tackett, Andrew Tackett, and Cameron Tackett, and his forever love Valorie Ragone who he met at Pups Pub. He is also survived by his best friends Sheila Suhar and Alex Wright, along with other extended family members, military brothers and sisters, and friends around the world.
Pups Pub is raising funds for Trevor's favorite cause; K9s for Warriors, an organization that perfectly embodies what he stood for supporting military veterans and dogs. Any contribution, no matter how small, is deeply appreciated and will go towards celebrating Trevor's legendary life. Our goal is to raise $30,000 to sponsor a Service Dog for a Warrior. The dog will fittingly be named "Hurricane" after Trevor. Thank you for your love and support during this difficult time. Let's unite as a community to honor his legacy and ensure his kindness, generosity, and passion for life are never forgotten.
