Join me in my effort to raise money for the SebastianStrong Foundation during Kayaking the Keys for Hope!
Four years of participating in Kayaking the Keys for Hope. Year three of being on the (greatest-ever) Kayaking the Keys for Hope road crew, and I’m still in it for the puns and the purpose.
Working with SebastianStrong, two things continue to stand out to me: purpose and people. Working here means showing up every day with intention and seeing that effort turn into something real.
This week, we cut the ribbon on the renovated Bone Marrow Transplant Family Unit at Holtz. I’ve launched a lot of projects in my career, but nothing compares to finishing something that will directly support families during treatment. The impact feels different. Seeing that space come to life was one of the most rewarding moments of my career.
This work also brings me closer to Sebs. I continue to see him in Oscar and Rose, just like I see more and more how all three of their boys carry the best of them. He’s not just remembered. He’s reflected in the way they lead, the way they love, and the way they keep showing up for other families. This foundation is a piece of him, and it’s a privilege to carry it forward.
So yes, you’ll still find me glued to my phone, writing captions in between launches and landings or hiding behind my laptop editing any moment I get. Because kids like Jake, who’s now fighting a second cancer caused by the toxic treatment he endured the first time and will be using that newly renovated family room, deserve a world that shows up for them. That fights for them. That funds better science.
Every mile we kayak, every dollar we raise adds up to breakthroughs, better outcomes, and more tomorrows.
Sebastian’s only treatment option was 40 years old. Nearly a decade later, not much has changed. This is something we can fix. Kids deserve better, and your support helps us get there.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Let’s paddle toward discovery together.
