Recipient Riders Remember: Carrying the Legacy Across America

We are the Recipient Riders Remember team, led by Ken Abbott, who is riding across the country over 9 years after receiving a life-saving heart transplant. Our mission is two-fold: to raise awareness for organ donation and to honor the selfless donors who make second chances possible.

Our Journey: San Diego, CA to St. Augustine, FL

Ken and the team are embarking on a monumental cross-country bike ride. Every mile ridden—from the Pacific to the Atlantic—is a testament to the incredible gift Ken received and a visible sign of life after transplantation.

Why We Ride:

We ride in deep gratitude for Ken's donor, whose decision gave him a renewed chance at life. This journey proves that donation saves lives and allows recipients not just to survive, but to thrive.

Our Goal:

We are raising funds to support the LiveOnNY Foundation in their efforts to register more donors and support transplant families.  LiveOnNY is the organ procurement organization for the metro New York region
