Our Adam has been a Keshet participant for 27 years. He is extremely happy and leads a meaningful and productive life. To say Keshet transformed Adam would be an understatement. Adam was diagnosed with autism at the age of two. For years, his challenges were immense. We felt isolated and desperate and certain that our life would be impossible. Then came Keshet and everything changed. When we say that Keshet saved Adam’s life, and ours, it is no exaggeration. Keshet gave Adam the opportunity to go to day school, summer camp, overnight camp, buddy baseball, special olympics, and Sunday school. At Keshet, the list of opportunities goes on and on. Despite that, we still worried his entire life about what adulthood would look like. Keshet answered our prayers by creating Gadol, an outstanding adult day program, and MyLife, an extraordinary residential program and lifelong home for adults with special needs. Because of Keshet, we watched Adam and hundreds of children and adults live their lives in a way that no one would have predicted.
For 30 years, Keshet has enriched the lives of thousands of individuals and allowed their families to sleep at night knowing their loved ones are in great hands. Their programs are truly state of the art, but even their expertise in special education is overshadowed by the deep sense of friendship, respect, and love that Keshet showers on each and every participant. Keshet sees to it that the kids they work with lead meaningful and productive lives out in the community which is exactly where they belong.
