My name is Anja Gordon and I've been a part of Sun Dragon since January 2009. The community at Sun Dragon has helped me find many friends and many of those friends have become like family. I have also learned many self-defense skills that will help me in later life. 

Sun Dragon is a nonprofit organization. Our annual fundraiser is the kickathon. All the money that the dojo raises will go toward self defense outreach and toward scholarships for people who cannot afford karate classes. An example of self-defense outreach is anti-bullying. Sun Dragon teaches Social Justice Self Empowerment Self Defense. This style of self defense focuses on feeling strong, safe, and respected in all situations. It brings attention to social issues like racism and sexism that teach us to tolerate violence and disrespect. Sun Dragon believes that physical and emotional safety is everyone’s right AND working towards a peaceful, respectful society is everyone’s responsibility.
