Since 2016, Kidsave has been deeply involved in reforming Ukraine’s overburdened child welfare system through our mentoring programs. After the invasion of Ukraine began in February 2022, our efforts have shifted to include evacuation and the supplying of humanitarian aid to all Ukrainians in need.
With your support, our dedicated team has successfully evacuated thousands of women, children, and families from active conflict zones to places of safety and delivered over 2,000 tons of humanitarian aid across Ukraine. This aid includes provisions like food, clean drinking water, medical supplies, and clothing. In many remote villages, families are living in broken houses and have limited access to food, heat, and clean water; they rely on our consistent deliveries for survival.
Despite the challenges of operating in a country that is actively at war, we have remained true to our core commitment to support orphans and have maintained our Corporate Mentoring Program, Pathway to Success. This initiative supports older youth transitioning out of orphanages and institutions by providing mentorship and career-readiness training, equipping them with essential life skills to navigate independent living. Additionally, our team has collaborated with local partners to establish a Children and Family Support Center in Mykolaiv, offering psychological assistance to children and distributing food kits to families. In the meantime, construction is underway on the Kidsave Miracles Center in western Ukraine. This multifunctional campus will serve as a hub for connection events for orphans to meet potential foster and adoptive families, career guidance and opportunities for older youth, and the training of child welfare professionals, social workers, and psychologists in trauma therapy and in our proven Kidsave Family Visit Model that they can implement across Ukraine.
Our ability to provide humanitarian aid and create such vital facilities as the Children and Family Support Center and the Kidsave Miracles Center largely depends on the generosity of our donors.
