Our local Ronald McDonald House Charity is hosting its 8th Annual Kilts for Kids event, and you guessed it, I am one of the men taking part in the fundraising campaign! Each year, men from the community agree to a ‘friends asking friends’ fundraiser where a friendly competition takes place to see who can raise the most for the charity. It’s just getting kicked off, and I need your help!
While I very much want to win this competition, I think what’s most important is the cause that your donation supports. The 2 Ronald McDonald Houses in South Dakota are both located in Sioux Falls, and they have served every single county from across the state, our neighboring states, and even other countries! This home keeps families close to their children while they recover from accidents or illnesses, receive chemo, or get strong enough to leave the NIC-U. It’s incredible the weight that is lifted off of these parents’ shoulders by providing housing so close to their hospitalized kids. Serving more than 1,000 families locally every single year, RMHC is more than just a nice place to be, it’s a necessity.
Every gift made towards my efforts goes to our local houses—keeping families close. It keeps the lights on, furnace and AC working, bills paid…each night is valued at $50 per family. Can you provide a night or 2? What about a week? Can you part ways with $1 per day for a year? A $365 donation provides more than a week stay! 2 houses, 29 bedrooms…it takes a lot of support, and I hope you’ll partner with me this year.
