Since the onset of COVID, The Arc of Essex County’s Orange Hub Day Program staff has been utilizing its facilities to offer virtual services.  The Orange Hub features a large, open-concept kitchen which makes it the ideal location to lead cooking and nutrition programming for all Day Program participants.  With the addition of an iPad and tripod, our team members will be able to move more freely about the kitchen without interrupting or blocking the camera view, improving the quality of programming.

Additionally, a new desktop computer, large monitor, and webcam will enable the team to see more virtual program participants on the screen during stationary activities, including the discussion portion of the cooking programming.  This will enhance our team members’ ability to interact with the full group as they follow along with the recipes at home.  By outfitting existing desktop computers with webcams, multiple staff can join the virtual broadcast to manage questions from the group and provide real-time feedback to participants.
