2020 Laelia Challenge Description

The Laelia Challenge is a fun, Albany County specific event. Our committee is comprised of local residents, health care professionals and business owners who volunteer to help raise funds on behalf of the Wyoming Breast Cancer Initiative (WBCI).   

WBCI's mission is to provide funds that support breast cancer services across remote Wyoming; with an ultimate intent to increase survival rate and decrease late-stage diagnosis.WBCI grant funding target goals include: raising breast cancer education/awareness, increasing early detection, providing patient navigation, and support breast cancer patients, survivors abd families.  

Since 2016, WBCI has granted more than $350,000 into 58 local projects providing resources being used in every Wyoming county. Albany county has been awareded more than $50,000 in grants. Funded services in Laramie, include monthly screening and education for ARK Regional Services clients, breast prostheses and other inventory for the Breast Cancer Boutique at Ivinson Memorial Hospital, early detection screening and diagnostic testing vouchers and the Surviving and Thriving After Cancer wellness program
