100 miles to raise $10,000 for Lowcountry Food Bank
On September 30, 2022, I will be running my first 100-mile ultramarathon. 30 hours to cover 100 miles on foot in Virginia. I have only ever run half that distance, so between now and then I'll be getting ready.
I'm partnering with the Lowcountry Food Bank to raise $10,000 while I complete the training, and eventually the race itself. One dollar donated provides six meals, giving us (LFB, you, and I) the opportunity to provide 60,000 meals total to 10 counties across the South Carolina coast. Knowing that one dollar can go as far as six meals feels like such a tangible chance to make a difference for a lot of people.
I'm also making a comic book running journal while I train called One Way to Run, which you can see for free at onewaytorun.com. I'll be releasing it in three parts as I go. Part one is finished, and if you include your email and a note saying something like "comic" when you donate any amount, I will email you a .pdf of part one, which includes a cover and introduction that are not on the website.
Thank you so much! I know it's a cliché, but it's true – every little bit helps.
